Kindergarten!

Sean's first day of school was this week. I can't believe our little boy is starting kindergarten. I think he is so ready to be in school and I'm ready to have him busy all day and learning new things. He seemed very excited and I hope that lasts all year.  I didn't have a hard time with him going my panic was more about the shear number of kids we walked through on the first day I dropped him off. I am used to 100 students k-12 and this school is only k-4 but has 5 kindergarten classes. He was a little apprehensive but once he found his teacher he seemed great.  The teacher's actually do in home visits prior to the start of school as a way to ease the kindergartners into it. I think this is such a great idea and really helped.

He was not excited about back to school shopping. He wanted to look at toys more than schools supplies.

Monday night was back to school open house where we had a chance to see his classroom and put away his items. The classroom is Jungle themed which made him very happy.

We got lost in the school but ended up finding the library. Mikayla found a comfortable spot to enjoy a book.

The first day of school was an orientation day we didn't have to be there until 10am so I took him to Wheat Montana for a cinnamon roll before school.

The first day was only an orientation day where he did a few activities while I filled out paperwork. He wanted to stay longer and play.

Hysham Streetfest

The kids and I headed to Hysham to enjoy the 3rd annual Hysham Streetfest. It's a tradition the town started to mark the end of summer and celebrate life in a great american small town. They have BBQ, vendors and games for all ages.
Sean and Mikayla did the "horse races"
Sean was ready to run like the wind he even told me I had to hold his hat so it didn't blow off.

Mikayla was a little timid and Larisha had to help her make it through.

Richelle and Sean participated in the egg drop.
We also enjoyed watching the Olympics. Mikayla was in the other room and heard the National Anthem she ran in and put her hand on her heart. I think she is practicing for her Olympic debut.
Mikayla and Sean both got pink eye this weekend as well. Sean woke up looking like this one morning. Poor guy.
They absolutely love Larisha's little puppy Rein. They drew a picture of her and gave her a lot of love while we were there.

Antiques and Manicures

Linda and I had not gone antiquing in a while so we decided to take a trip into Butte to check out some of the stores. We thought it would be fun to have a girls day with Mikayla but she was over it after the first store and was ready to go back home and see Grandpa Ron. We stopped at Silverbow pizza where she cheered up once she saw the carousal and games.

When we got home she enjoyed a nice mani/pedi from Grandpa.

Whitehall Frontier Days

The kids and I headed to Whitehall to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa at Whitehall Frontier Days. Grandma spoiled the kids with face painting, snowcones and books.

Sean wanted to read the books that Grandma bought Mikayla but Mikayla wanted nothing of it. She is so good at pouting and whining.

Bannack Days

We headed to Bannack State Park for the annual Bannack Days in July.  Jon and Michelle, Snooks Grandma Barb and Grandma and Grandpa Jung joined us. It was a hot day and really busy but it was a lot of fun to take in all the activities. We also had the opportunity to watch Ron sing and celebrate his birthday at the end of the day.

This was the neatest thing it's called bobbin lace and it was amazing watching how it worked and how these ladies worked this craft.
