Take Me Out To The Ballgame

Sunday we went to a Rockies and Dodgers game.  This turned into quite the adventure.  Sean got to take his first train ride which he was very excited about.  Half way to the ballpark it started raining and Mikayla and I didn’t have coats.  Also about this time we realized we left the tickets back in the car.  Jeff hopped off the train to go back and get the tickets while mom, the kids and I went on to try and find our way to the ballpark.  We got off the train in the down pour and got soaking wet.  Mikayla seemed to enjoy it and Sean was just taking in the “big city”.   We finally got directions from a nice police officer who was getting some coffee at Starbucks.  We caught the correct bus and then headed to the stadium.  The rain was nice enough to stop for the walk from the bus to the stadium and the time we spent waiting to get the ticket situation figured out.  We enjoyed a few innings before the rain started again.  The lightning and thunder was hitting pretty close to the stadium so they made everyone leave the stands.  We tried to watch the game from the 2nd level that is covered but it was pretty crowded.  We got a hot dog and then headed home.  They ended up calling the game and the Rockies lost.  On the train ride home Sean and Mikayla made fast friends with the nice couple sitting across from us.  Sean told them  our life story and Mikayla waved and high fived the whole time.  Good thing I have cute kids that helps people tolerate them.   It was nice to get home and into warm dry clothes.
Sitting at home plate entrance waiting for tickets.
The storm brought some interesting cloud formations.  The next morning on the news we heard that 10 tornadoes had formed that night.
If it hadn't been for the rain I think the kids would have done very well.  Mikayla kept herself entertained with the cup holders and rearranging the drinks.  I think we have a champion cup stacker in the future.
Sean spotted the snow-cone vender from a mile away.  It was the largest snow-cone I've ever seen and Sean was very entertained by trying to eat it all, which he almost did!.
First train ride!

Let the downpour begin

Mom's favorite player came up to bat.  I told Sean that he needed to watch to see if Grandma's favorite player hits a home run (he did later in the game!).  Sean said "which is my favorite player?"  I told him I didn't think he had one.  At the inning change the "Jeep girls" got up on the dugouts to throw t-shrits.  Sean looks at me and says "I think that is my favorite player!"  Oh Sean, you make me smile!
