Feb-Mar Odds & Ends

Even with a cold February and beginning of March we have stayed very busy. The kids have loved playing with legos and use their imagination to keep themselves entertained. As a parent it's one of my favorite things to watch them do. Sean continues to enjoy Taekwando and on the way to practice last week he said "Mom, I love taekwando, thank you for spending the money and time to let me do this".  They have started doing sparring sessions once a month and Sean had a little trouble with one match but he did a great job at turning it into a learning opportunity.

When you have to wait in the parking lot for a prescription to be ready you park next to the pile of snow and the kids get in some play time.

The kids had their first sleepover with friends Kaia and Kaity. Racheal and Kevin had an early appointment so we got to have the girls for the night. Grandma Barb made cookies with them and then they got to decorate. We sure enjoyed having them.

Grandma Barb is working on a quilt for a 6 week class she signed up for and Mikayla is learning some sewing skills.

Sean wanted to write a book about Super Lizzy Liz. I wrote the story as he said it and then he illustrated it. When it was done he read it to Lizzy.

The kids wanted to go to the gym with me one day so Saturday morning we went. I'm not sure what it is that makes other toys more appealing than their own but they had a blast playing in the gym kids room.
Mikayla and I had to take Grandma to work at the library since her car broke down. We decided to hang out and make a lego penguin.
The kids had gone before with Grandma and have a display of their lego builds.
Mikayla made a movie theater and was watching with her friends.
The kids had two days off of school and so we decided to set up a playdate with friends. Sophie and Brock spent the day with us and when putting the kids to bed that night they told me it was the best day ever.

We decided to go to the museum to get out of the house and stay warm. We enjoyed the arctic exhibit and enjoyed the day as a family.

School Fun

Mikayla's class celebrated the 100th day of school and we decided to put 100 superhero logos on her superman cape for her outfit.

The cheer team did held a cheer camp and then did a quick routine during one of the basketball games. Mikayla and her good friends Paislee and Sophie all participated and they were sure cute. During the same game Sean was recognized for Wolf of the Week for doing a good job and being a great community member.

Valentine's Day was a fun day for the kids. Mikayla had to have Valentine themed hair ties to celebrate the day. They both made amazing card boxes and I was very impressed with Sean's talent to see a unique way to use the opening of a kleenex box. He is a very artistic and talented person. I can't wait to see what his future holds.

Sean wanted to make his own lunch. He said he wanted to make a "unique sandwich" so I stepped back and let him go ahead. He layered bread, cheese, graham cracker to make a for sure unique sandwich. The best part was when he got home and emptied his lunchbox, he at it exactly like a sandwich.
