School Fun

Mikayla has settled into school and enjoys going every day. She was apprehensive about attending their field trip to the hay maze but she came home and said it was the best day ever. 

 She took the presentation from the fire department very seriously. She came home and directed us on needing to change our smoke detector batteries and had a serious and concerning discussion regarding closing the bedroom doors at night. She doesn't like to sleep with the door closed and it made her very scared at the thought of having to do it.

Thanksgiving

 We planned on having a pretty low key Thanksgiving since mom was finishing up her radiation treatment and Linda had surgery on her eye. However, mom's family surprised us by making the trip to spend Wednesday with us. The Bidwell's, Jeff and Wes joined us for the day. We enjoyed good food, naps and a couple of games of Farkle. 

 On Thanksgiving Day we headed to Ron and Linda's where we were joined by some dinosaur friends for dinner. 

 

Mikayla made a place mat at school and was excited to share it with our family. She even let Uncle Jeff use it for breakfast the next day. 

Montana Skies

One of the things I enjoy most about our new house is the beauty that we get to experience around us. This fall the skies have been amazing and I just can't get enough of them.

This picture was during fire season. The sky had been smoked filled for a couple of weeks and one day we had a break in the smoke and clouds coming in. It was a unique sight. 

San Antonio

I had a last minute work trip that took me to San Antonio. It was a quick trip but I had a little time to take in the Riverwalk and visit the Alamo. Seeing this bit of history was a great but interesting experience. I didn't expect it to be right in the middle of the city surrounded by tall buildings. I expected what you see in the movies, a big fort out in the middle of open space.

Halloween

Batgirl and Raptor Blue for Halloween. In true Montana spirit it was a cold evening, and the kids barely made it through the downtown shops before they wanted to come home. Sean really wanted to get this mask for Halloween because it straps around your chin and when you open it raptor sounds come out.

Sean's 8th B-Day

As part of Sean's birthday celebration I took him to a movie with a friend. 

 On the night of his actual birthday we had a small celebration with a few presents and cake. We planned to celebrate his birthday with everyone the following weekend but Sean ended up getting sick so we had to postpone until the weekend after his birthday. He was very sad that we had to postpone but he didn't want to get anyone else sick. Then on the day we celebrated Mikayla got sick at the end of the day, so we still exposed people to whatever illness they had. 

 Sean lost one of his top teeth on his birthday.
