Grandma Linda has been battling a sore knee for awhile and now has to have surgery on her eyes. We decided to cheer her up with a visit. She had water balloons and the slip-n-slide ready to go. It was a fun battle and enjoyed by everyone.
Mikayla picked a flower for me out of the yard.
When the sprinklers are raptors and you are Owen from Jurassic World you come prepared to fight.
Sometimes bigger isn't better and the a bucket of water works as a way to cool off.
Ethan and I were sitting on the back steps watching the chickens and 5 bucks and 1 doe came to visit.
When Linda had her eye surgery we got to watch Sammy and Frank for them. Sammy was very sad and missed Ron and Linda. Frank however seemed to enjoy himself. Especially the fact he got to sleep with Sean.
On really hot afternoons XBox lessons are given.
I had planned a trip for my birthday to go antiquing with Linda to a new place we had never been before, however, Mom had her surgery so we had to cancel the trip. With life being very busy and stress taking over I decided to treat myself to a night away and a little adventure. I planned my own antique trail and decided to take in as many antique shops as I could in the Missoula area. I headed to out on Friday afternoon, stopping at Deer Lodge to visit a place that I have always seen the sign from the interstate but had never been able to stop. I got to Missoula in time to take in a HUGE 4 floor antique store. I checked into my hotel and then decided to treat myself to a nice steak dinner, a drink and a little dessert. On my way to the hotel I saw signs for an antique show happening at the fair grounds the next morning, so I bought tickets and started the next day there. After that stop I traveled down to Florence and Stevensville. I then made my way back to Missoula and turned South at Drummond to get to Philipsburg and then on to Anaconda. I had never traveled many of these areas and was very surprised at the beautiful route between Phillipsburg and Anaconda. It was a wonderful trip and just what my soul needed.
We had another beautiful and fun visitor.
Mom's treatment is going well. She started to lose her hair and was finding hats to keep her covered from the sun. Cousins Kim and Kelly were very kind to send her some really cute hats.
The kids have found the fun of piggy back rides.
We said goodbye to our guinea pigs, Max and Rusty, we took them to a shelter where they hopefully found a new wonderful forever home. With how busy we are we were having trouble keeping up with the cage cleaning and Mikayla's room just wasn't big enough for them. Mikayla got a new friend instead that is much easier to care for. Meet Superman.
Mom had an appointment, I had to work and the kids no longer had summer rec so to keep them entertained I turned on Cosmic Kids Yoga. They decided on the minecraft one and when I came out to check on them I see this...
Fire season has begun and smoke fills the air. It's never good to see this so close, luckily it was extinguished very easily. However,, Glacier is having another bad fire season. Someone posted this picture of Lake McDonald at night and it was so crazy to think the kids and I were standing on that shore just a short month ago.
While Grandma had an appointment we played in the park. A good play in the park is always good for the soul.
Where smoke meets blue sky. It was an interesting scene from the deck.
Miss you guys! I have been checking your blogspot more often to keep tabs on those kiddos and all of you. We are happy here in Oregon but really missing those evenings sitting out on the deck drinking a beer and enjoying your company.
