April Odd & Ends

Signs of spring have begin to show but we know that in MT winter can still rear it's ugly head. The kids imagination and life projects keeping us busy.  We continue work on the basement project at the new house which actually lead to a remodel of our master bathroom. We needed to get the plumbing for the bathroom rerouted so we could install the radiant floor heat in the correct areas. I find that I always underestimate the work involved in these projects and am forever grateful that I have Ethan as my partner for these projects.

The kids always find ways to stay entertained. Mikayla "camped" on top of their beds for a few nights.

On the warm days she played outside, she loves her little car even though she is getting too big for it. She set up a drive thru so she could order some lunch.
Sean had a play date with his good friend from school, Stefan. We visited the new Croc exhibit at the museum. Sean had so much fun that the next day he spent the day at Stefan's house while Grandma and I worked to get the condo ready to put on the market.

Mikayla wanted to hang out with the boys but of course they didn't want her around. She wasn't happy hanging with mom.

They have stayed busy doing many craft projects. They love painting, cutting, pasting and making all sorts of pictures.

As thought Ethan wasn't busy enough with the remodel projects as our house he was still completing work on a Bed and Breakfast he has been working on as well as made new counter tops for his parent kitchen remodel.
I think the favorite thing about the new house for the kids is the long hallway that they can run as fast as they can from one end of the house to the other. They were seeing if they could fly.

We have enjoyed the signs of spring including visits from beautiful blue birds.

Mikayla loves to play "work" like mom and sets up her computer in whatever spot seems best at the moment.

Daddy made her a new dress that she wasn't sure about but smiled anyway.
She likes to show off how strong she is.
And share secrets with her brothers.
Sean's class was learning about the arctic and he had to complete a project and present it to the class. He decided he wanted to make a pop up book about seals. We were able to get some pop up parts and moving parts and his presentation went well.
He also was star of the week and had to put together a poster to tell about himself. This made me realize a rarely print pictures anymore but we were able to put together something at the last minute.
Our neighbors asked to put some of their horses on our grass and we over course said yes as we weren't quite sure how we were going to mow it. Sean helped them up the electric fence and I'm sure he talked their ear off the whole time.

We enjoyed visits and watching Nearly and Truman out our windows.

This horse loving little girl was very excited.
Grandma had wanted to curl Mikayla's hair so she got new curlers and Mikayla liked them for the first time but now won't let mom put them in her hair again.

The kids and I went to the ranch to visit. Mikayla couldn't wait to ride Woody and say hi.

This trip we let the kids ride Woody around in the coral by themselves. Woody was so good with the kids and just followed us around the coral making sure they had a safe ride. Mikayla was very uneasy at first, but once she saw brother do it she was a pro.

Little afternoon snack on the little green stool. I used to use this stool in the exact same way when I was her age.
They had two bum calves that were only a week old. The kids enjoyed feeding them and they thought it was really neat that Papa named them Mikayla and Sean.

Lisa, Gwen and Oscar came to visit us. Their visit happened to fall on Gwen's birthday so we had an excuse for cupcakes.
