January

January brought some interesting visitors, work on the house and fun projects to stay busy during this cold cold month.  I know we were due for a good hard winter but this one seems to be lasting forever. We are ready for some sunshine.

A neighbor cat came to visit and see what we had to offer.  Indiana was not impressed with this visitor but when he went outside the cat won. So much for a good guard dog.
While working on the basement one evening we heard some scratching in the wall and realized in Ethan's attempt to insulate the basement we pushed a seam open in the siding and a little mouse made his way in quickly.  The next morning we had the chance to see how much he explored our patio area.
The fresh snow provides an interesting insight into what lurks in the night at our house.  Is it a cat ora  racoon?
Ethan and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary in a very fitting way to our relationship we built our new stairs. The basement is a walk out basement so you are able to move furniture and items in through that. Enable to expand the size of our master bath we had to come up with another option for stairs. Through much debate and trial and error we spent our anniversary building our new tiny stairs.

Sean and Mikayla enjoyed winter break but it was nice to go back to school and get into the regular routine. Mikayla and Sean both learned about the Arctic.  Mikayla created herself as an eskimo and Sean had to do a whole project on something related to the Arctic. He choose Seal's and enjoyed using my Cricut I got for Christmas to make a picture book.

To pass the cold days we played board games.
 Tried out new hairstyles.

 Had snuggles and read books.
Learned how to do chores and our laundry.

Sean received his first "love" note from a girl in his class.

We enjoyed seeing the wildlife on our travels to Grandma's and home. This heard of Elk hung out in the field off and on for a few weeks. I am also 95% sure we saw a Moose eating on a hay bale on the road to our house one night. For me seeing wildlife makes any bad day go away.
Sean has learned how to play Xbox and is obsessed with his Jurassic World Legos game.
We had a few movie nights snuggling in Sean's bed.

We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Jung and helped Grandma decorate some cupcakes.
 Naps.
The one day in January were it reached above 40 degrees we decided to go to Headwaters State Park and stretch our legs. Fresh air and fun.  Mikayla refused to get out of her PJs.

I was tired of shoveling snow but I reached my ultimate limit when the snow pile became taller than me.
