Projects and Family Time

As is to my nature and much to Ethan's dismay I thought up another project for us to work on.  We spent the weekend building this cabinet. The kids are getting old enough that they could play outside or even help us on this project and it reminded Ethan and I of the times before kids when we would spend a lot of time together doing projects.  We are both very happy with how it turned out.

Aunt Michelle and Uncle Jon can to visit while we worked on the project.  Auntie Michelle showed Mikayla how to give herself a tatoo.  She went a little crazy with it.  Good thing it was washable!

This picture is without the hardware on. We actually used two old doors to make the exterior and shelves.  Ethan used some scrap wood to make the cabinet doors.

We also managed to fit in some family movie time. I captured this moment between father and daughter...priceless.

Digging, Exploring and Running

We went on an adventure with Grandpa Ron, Grandma Linda, Jon and Michelle to Crystal Park.  It was a beautiful fall day. The trees were full of colors and the view were amazing.

Mikayla doesn't go anywhere without a bag. She was ready to dig for crystals.

On the drive to Crystal Park we saw a sign for a Coolidge MT ghost town. On the way back we decided to take the little side trip and check it out.  It was a very cool thing to see.  Most of the buildings had fallen down but it was interesting to imagine this remote area as a booming mining town of 300.

Practicing some yoga while waiting for the boys to get back from exploring.
Practice balancing making sure to not get our foot caught in the space.
This was an amazing view but the camera would not capture it.

The day ended with quick meal and dip in "Lake Sean" (hot tub). It was a wonderful day.

The next day I embarked on another adventure that my cousin Rici convinced me to do.  Her and I convinced Shaunessy and my friend Rachel to run the Bozeman Marathon Relay. Each of us ran a leg of the 26.2 miles.  I was very proud of myself for completing 7 miles. I had set a goal at the beginning of the summer to run a 10k but had given up on this goal. I'm glad Rici provided the opportunity to actually complete it.

It was a beautiful day and the run had great views.

Labor Day Fun

We spent Labor Day weekend at the ranch.  Kyle and Cami joined us as well and we spent time exploring in the hills, shooting guns, bows and arrows and enjoying time with those we love.
Mikayla enjoyed spending time with Papa. Trying to get a good picture of these two goofballs is impossible.

Uncle Kyle was trying to site in his new bow for hunting season and he had a little helper when getting his arrows out of the target.
Sean and Mikayla were so excited to get to ride horses.
Larisha is being a typical teenager and trying to ignore the camera.
Mikayala smiled from ear to ear the entire time she was riding.  She has decided that Woody is her horse.  This trip reminded me that is was 3 years ago that we had visited the ranch for Labor Day.  It was the first time I had ridden a horse in years.  After we got home we found out we were expecting Mikayla, maybe her love of horses started from the very beginning.
Larisha is her best friend now and she hasn't stopped talking about her since this visit.  She gets her purse together and gets in her toy car and says she is going to visit Larisha.  Anytime we start driving she asks if we are going to visit Larisah and Woody.
