Hiking Fun

More snuggles with brother.  Everytime Sean sees her he says "awww she is so cute".

We went on a small hike this past weekend with our friends Jon and Michelle.  Then we had a picnic and played at the splash park.  Mikayla had a great day and we all enjoyed getting out of the house.

Odds & Ends

Sean loves helping give Mikayla a bath...or at least playing in her water while she enjoys her bath.  He picked out these rubber duckies for her and he makes sure she has them for every bath.

Just hanging out.  His favorite thing to say about her is "she's so cute".  He doesn't appreciate her crying though and will often cover his ears and ask us to leave the room.

My friend Rachel finally had her baby.  Here is Mikayla (on the right) and Finn (on the left).  Finn is one week old and Mikayla is 6 weeks old but they are the same weight and height!

Thanks Grandma Barb for the sun hat.  I'm a true southern bell, now I just need my fancy dress on.

Sean has been such a good boy these days and is becoming very independent.  He spent last weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Jung playing hard in the yard and on the new playground set at the elementary school.   I can see now how much having a sibling can effect the personality of the children.  I'm very proud of him.

Mikayla is having more good days than bad it seems.  This week she had a very upset tummy and gave Grandma Barb a rough time.  She even pooped on her at one point.  I'm so very thankful that mom is here and amazed at how patient she is with a crying baby.  She keeps telling me that she put up with me when I was a fussy baby so she'll do it with Mikayla too.

Here are a few videos of Mikayla hanging out she loves talking to Mr. Monkey on her play mat.  I even got one of her smiling.  She thinks I'm pretty funny.

Birthday Fun

We headed to Whitehall for my birthday dinner. It was a very nice day and Sean enjoyed playing with the new toy Grandma and Grandpa Jung saved from the garbage and fixed up.

Grandma was able to get Mikayla to relax for a few minutes.

We also played in the pool.

When they sang happy birthday Ethan asked Sean "how old is mommy?"  Sean says "2...too old!"  Gee thanks Sean.

Mikayla 1 month

Mikayla is one month old.  At her check up she was 9lbs 4.5oz and was 20.5 inches long. (The 21 inches they measured at birth was incorrect at her 3 day old appointment they got a more accurate length of 19.5 inches.)

She is an interesting baby who seems to only want her mom. She refuses a pacifier and bottle, she doesn't like to be swaddled, and doesn't even like riding in the car seat. Thank goodness for smart phones and white noise apps! The white noise, being naked on her changing table bouncing/walking around and Metallica music seem to be the only ways to calm her.

Hopefully as the weeks go by she will get better. I return to work this week and even though working from home I think I may have been optimistic when I thought I could take such little time off. Mom is here to help which I am very thankful for and Sean is enjoying.

Sean's shinanigans

Sean has a couple of new sayings when he is trying to convince us to let him do something.

The first is "is that a deal".   He will say I will do this and you do that and then end it with "Is that a deal?"  He looks you straight in the eye and points his finger at you when he says it.

The second is "it's possible".  When he asks for something and you say no he says "it's possible, right? okay?", trying to get us to change our minds.

Mikayla is almost a month old.  The time has gone fast but slow at the same time.  We are just taking one day at a time and adjusting to life as a family of four.  The newborn phase is definitely not my favorite.

She was a cutie today though after she ate she just laid back on my lap gave a little smile then conked out.
