Basement Progress

We are slowly making progress on hanging the sheetrock. We have tried to get Mikayla and Sean to assist us but they get tired of vacuuming after about 3 mins, then go off and play. Oh to be a kid again.

Ethan and I in typical fashion spent our wedding anniversary doing home improvement projects. We decided to gift ourselves a cordless dry wall drill so we each could have a drill to use as we work on the hanging the rock.
I then decided that Mikayla needed more space in her room and the only way we could get it was to loft her bed. I found plans for a lofted bed and begged Ethan to pick up the supplies for me. He said he isn't doing any projects other than the basement because we just need to get it done. The plans seemed straight forward enough that I really wanted to attempt this one myself. I was able to do about 85% of it on my own. I needed his assistance for some math on the stairs and assistance is getting it together but the rest was all me! Mikayla loves her new bed and I love the extra space she has.
I'm glad the kids are able to entertain themselves so well while we work. They play well together for the most part but sometimes we have to stop work to break up an argument.

The kids convinced us to take a break and spend some time outside with them. It was a beautiful day and Mikayla's girl snowman looked fabulous.

Natures Bonuses

Additional bonuses for this month have been a porcupine and some turkeys. The porcupine likes to hand out in the trees and the turkeys enjoy hanging out by the house by the river. It's been fun to watch them in our drives to and from town.

Christmas 2017

Sean's Christmas concert was wonderful. The music teacher had the kids do a lot of neat things.

First day of Christmas vacation meant working on our ginger bread houses.

The kids love playing with our Christmas village pieces. The horses enjoyed being in the warm barn.
We headed to Ron and Linda's for Christmas Eve service. It's always nice to get the family together for a picture. I forgot to get a picture with Ron and Linda this year.

I think Santa thinks the kids were better behaved than they were this year. But they enjoyed all their presents.

Daddy thanked Mikayla for picking out his new Yeti water bottle.
But then she got a hold of the nerf gun that the Jones family got Sean. She had daddy trapped on the floor and then her accomplice,  Ron's dog Sammy, came over and got him on the nose.

Sean spent the whole day at his lego table. I'm not sure he even got out of his pajamas for the day.
When Sean was 2 Ron built a table for him and he received duplos for Christmas. My how the boy has grown!

Santa also brought the family some games. We played Jenga and kids Charades. Mikayla couldn't look while Grandma was making this delicate move.

Most of Christmas break Sean worked at his lego table.
Sean was very sweet and wrote everyone letter for Christmas.
