Sean Turns 5!

Our baby boy turned 5! I can't believe how fast the time has gone and what an amazing little boy he has turned into.
He still loves anything dinosuar and animal related. His knowledge on both topics is amazing. The other day we headed into town and he proceeded to tell me many random facts about animals as well as how tornados form.
"Mom hot air rises and when hot air and cold air come together it can cause the air to swirl and form a tornado". What!!! How did you know that?
His favorite TV shows are Popular Mechanics for Kids and Wild Kratts.
His favorite color is Orange.
He loves to play zoo and Jurassic Park.
He is a lover and not a fighter for sure and he doesn't enjoy any kind of sports.
He told me he wanted a dinosaur death cake. Mom and I did our best and he was very pleased with the outcome.

Mom and Ethan both had the flu on his birthday so we couldn't do a big party. Mikayla, Sean and I celebrated with McDonalds and cake.

Mom was feeling well enough to bring Sean his present. Unlike any 5 year old I know he made sure Mikayla knew that you had to read the card first before opening the present.
Sometimes his pure heart shows through and amazes me.

Even though it was not a big party Sean said it was a great day.
His 5 year stats:
Weight: 37 lbs 6 oz (27%)
Height: 42.75 inches (47%)

Odds & Ends

Sean and Mikayla are really into crafting.  Sean decided he wanted to make a dinosaur. I gave him some paper, crayons, scissors and tape (blue painter tabe because we were out of scotch tape)

His finished product. An amazing dinosaur. I was so proud of him.

Grandma playing a little search and find with Finn and Mikayla.

Mikayla loves to work like Mommy. She gets her computer out and taps the keys pretending to type like crazy. Mom and Ethan both had the flu this day so I was working from the couch while the kids played.  We were two peas in a pod.

Visit with Papa

I had some time off to take before the end of the year.  The kids and I decided to head to Eastern MT and visit Papa Jim and watch Larisha compete at the NILE.
Mikayla and Papa are becoming best buds. We enjoyed tagging along to the hills to feed cows and check on the water.

Larisah did a great job at the reining cow horse competition.  The kids enjoyed wandering around the booths and seeing all the animals.
It was a busy weekend and the kids slept all the way home.  Sean experienced his fist bee sting and not just one but 3 of them! He freaked out but I rememberd the baking soda paste trick whiched ease the pain quickly.  As he was screaming and crying he asked me "mom why does it hurt so bad", my heart broke because I remeber how bad they hurt.

Fall Is Here

The most rewarding part of running is the beauty I get to experience.  The light was amazing the other night as I went around the pond in river rock.  It was cloudy but the sun was setting and found clear sky which made the colors amazing.

Rachel and Finn brought party hats to play with.  Mom and the kids wore their party hats which they made party people.

Football and Glow Run

We headed to Forsyth to watch Mickey play football.  It was a cold and rainy weekend so the kids and I watched from the car and listened on the radio.  Sean played in the back of the car setting up a zoo with his new lizards.
Sean got a haircut before we left and he decided he wanted to try it spiked.  He looked so different I couldn't believe it!
Thursday we headed to Kyle's.  I worked from there Friday. Mom took the kids to the zoo and Mikayla spent some time cleaning Kyle's house. It's blurry but I'm so glad I caught her "ewwww" face.  Her expressions are priceless and I wish I could capture them all. I'm also happy to report that Mikayla has been doing 100% better in the tummy department! I have been taking her to the chiropractor and a Nutrition Therapist.  We discovered she can't have dairy and this all has made a huge difference.  She is a happy little girl for the most part now.
The drive home. I love this time of year when it's cloudy and the glow of the wheat fields and dry grass just pop.
On Saturday Rici, Barry, and I had signed up to do a "Glow Run" it was the for United Love foundation which purchases Ipads for Cancer patients.  Kyle decided to complete his first 5k and join us for the run. Despite the cold and rain this was the most fun run I have done to date.  It went fast because we were running at night, the course was great, and for the last leg of the race when you came back into the park it was all lite up and just brought energy to the finish.  For sure going to do this one again!
My festive socks which also kept my feet very warm.

 "Glow Bull" ready to run

Home Sweet Home

I found some pictures from Labor Day weekend at the Ranch.  Some of my favorite views.

Mikayla was doing a little horse shopping.

Riding around in the hills checking the water tanks was not very exciting to them.

Ethan's B-Day Fun

Ethan just wanted a low key birthday.  We had dinner with Jon and Michelle on Saturday and then Grandma and Grandpa Jung came to visit Sunday.

Sean put on a puppet show for Michelle and I.  You can't see them very well but he has animal finger puppets he is using.  To sum up every show he did something ate something...usually the shark won.
 Birthday pumpkin pie.
After dinner we took a walk down by the Gallatin River.  It was a beautiful sunset.

Sean and Mikayla spent the time throwing rocks into the river.

Sean and I raced back to the car, I couldn't a a picture fast enough of him in his "I win, I win!" pose on top of the rock.
Sunday we had lunch at Johnny Carinos where Papa spent time whispering funny songs in Sean's Ear.

We visited the library and enjoyed playing in the park.  Grandma bought Sean a new snake which he proceeded to hide in the grass then sneak up on it, pull it out of the grass, beat it on the concrete and then bring it to us showing us how he caught and killed the snake.

A birthday is not complete without a birthday cake.
