Mikayla 1 Year

I'm a little behind in getting Mikayla's 1 year pictures taken but we had a photo shoot at the park the other day.  The kids were not well behaved but the photographer was able to capture some good pictures.

How To Spell Mikayla

Sean: as he is sitting on the couch and I'm cooking dinner "Mi, M, Mi, Mi, Mikayla.  Mom, I can spell Mikayla".
Me: "How do you spell Mikayla?"
Sean: M-E-A-N, Mikayla
Me: Burst out laughing and I agreed with him because the night before she did not sleep well and kept me up most of the night.

I think he knew it started with an M and replaced the M with the S in his name.

Just Because

How Sean makes a sandwhich, chips, fries, cheese, half a bun and a slice of bread.  Good thing it is fake food!
They fight, they laugh, they love.  Brother and sister through and through.
Indiana loves Mikayla.  Mikayla loves feeding Indiana.

My Big Girl

Mikayla is such a big girl she tries to do so much all on her own.
Here she is trying to put on her shorts.

She wants to eat out of the big chair and at the table with everyone else.  She also loves to feed herself.
Big Girl!!! Anytime you say big girl to her she raises her hands and shows you how big she is.

Sweat Pea Weekend

The first weekend in August is the Annual Sweat Pea Festival in Bozeman.
I ran the 5k race and I actually didn't walk at all!!  I had a few 8-10 year olds that beat me to the finish line but I was proud that I was able to make the whole way without walking.  My goal was to do that for my last race in September but now I can concentrate on improving my time.
Taking in the parade with some of my favorite people.
Sean and Mikayla really liked the icepops that the hockey team were handing out.
Sean's milk "beard"
Many of the past teachers from Rosebud are around the area so they decided to spend the weekend taking in Sweet Pea events and reliving the old days.  They sure had a blast and it was great to see everyone.  Hopefully more will make it next year!
Photo: Here we are -- "old" Rosebud friends in Shelly Batey's yard north of Belgrade. We have visited for hours, enjoyed the Sweet Pea Festival including Shakespeare in the Parks, eaten together including Barb and Snooks' BBQ and Shelly Batey's brunch, and treasured how comfortable we are together. Nothing like enduring friends. Pictured are Barb DeCock, Rochelle (Chelly) Pulver, Cindy Coad, Shelly Batey, me, Snooks Schmidt (Barb's cousin), Mary Cress, and Arlis Vannett. By the way, this is the "first annual" and we hope to have a lot more friends involved next year.
