We took Sean to the annual Digger Days event, a fundraiser for Eagle Mount. It has big equipment and sand hills for the kids to climb on, ride in and play on. Sean had a blast.
The other night Sean made his very own drum set. I was very impressed with how well he lined them up. The drum stick was a hammer but he is a very imaginative kid. I hope he doesn't lose his creativity as he gets older.
While watering my flowers a butterfly flew out of them and landed on the ground. Since it's wings were wet it couldn't fly away so I decided to get a jar and save it for when Sean woke up and could look at it. He was pretty impressed with it but him and his best friend Ashlinn decided we should let it go.
Once we took the lid off the jar the butterfly flew into my plant. Then Sean and Ashlinn looked for it and chased it around the yard.
Sean and Ashlinn really are best buds. They are so cute together. Ashlinn was here three days this week while our daycare provider is on vacation. One morning Ashlinn got here before Sean woke up, I asked her if we should go jump on the bed and wake Sean up but she said no. We quietly went into his room and crawled on his bed. I said Sean look who's here, through groggy eyes he says"hi Ashlinn"then promptly pops up, holds his arms out and motions come here with his hands and says give me a hug. It was so cute!!
And the first wall that fell victim to crayon mark. He has been so good at only coloring on paper before now.
Sean is in desperate need of a haircut, but the other day he woke up and his hair was sticking straight up like a rooster and he wouldn't let me comb it. He got embarrassed when I tried to take a photo and covered it up but he let me comb it after that.
The kids and I headed to Papa Jim's house this past weekend. Ethan stayed home and Uncle Kyle came to visit. He and Ethan went shooting together, they have gotten into long distance shooting and both hit the target at 1000 yards!
Larisah had to take sean to see the horses. This time he wasn't too afraid to feed them. Him and Larisah are pretty good buddies.
Mikayla got her first look at horses too, but she wasn't nearly as impressed as Sean.
Of course we had to fit in some swimming. We headed to the Hysham pool for an afternoon of swimming. Sean loved the slide but found the water to be a little too cool. I remember many summers spent at this pool when I was a kid. I love that I got to see my kid play there too.
Mikayla just hung out poolside and enjoy the fresh air.
Mikayla hanging out at Papa Jim's chewing on her favorite thing, her fist.
Papa Jim's was a lot of fun a nap on the ride home was needed they both slept almost the whole way home.
We decided to remodel the office so it is a playroom/office and Mikayla and Sean could start sharing a bedroom. Ethan has been hard at work for 3 straight weeks. I forgot how hard it was to help or get anything accomplished with a baby. I appreciate all his hard work though and Sean is sure enjoying his new playroom.
Both kids enjoyed a little "yoga" this week.
Mikayla holding her head up high and stretching.
Sean watching something on my Nook while holding various "yoga" poses.
Sean started swim lessons again a few weeks ago. He has no fear and loves to jump into the water. He is beginning to get the paddle/kick down, but really enjoys diving for toys instead.
His daycare provider took the kids to the pond the other day and Grandma Barb and I went there to pick Sean up. Here is a demonstration of his swimming skills.
I've been trying to get this update done since Mikayla turned 3 months old on the 7th but life has just been that busy.
We didn't have a 3 month check up but she seems like she has grown a lot. Here is some random information about Mikayla instead of stats.
She still only sleeps for about 3-4 hours at a time at night. and thinks 4am is time to get up and play. She then goes back to sleep at 6 when I have to get up. At this age Sean was sleeping about 5-6 hours a night, guess they are just going to be complete opposites.
She rolled over for the first time but so far hasn't done it again. She really is working on it and I'm sure will master it in no time.
When we have "tummy time" she is already pulling with her hands and trying to push with her feet, I see crawling at a very early age in her future!!
She is really working on control of her arms and hands. You can see the concentration as she trys to grab at things or push buttons. I think we have a future gamer on our hands.
She likes sitting upright so she can take in everything around her. She is almost ready to sit up on her own.
How her and Grandma spend the days that Sean is at daycare.
Sean eating some "worms". Handful to the face nommm, nommm, nommm.
Sean is doing well with potty training and seems fascinated by his poop. He told his daycare provided the other day he pooped a turtle.
We had family pictures taken a month ago but I haven't had time to do anything with them. I'm so happy mom was here and we were able to get pictures of her and the kids. Mikayla wasn't very happy but we got a few good ones.
