On the Mend

We are finally on the mend at the Jung house!  (knock on wood) No one has a cold, little girl and I are recovering well from surgery and we are enjoying time together.

Family game night.  Even Indiana joined in the fun.  He couldn't hold the cards very well but he tried.

Sean is really into hiding.  He likes the blankets over the tables or couch so he can hide from all the monsters.

Last week at daycare one of the kids brought hungry hippo.  Sean wouldn't stop talking about it so we went out and bought the game for him.  It kept him entertained all weekend.

Of course he still plays with his dinosaurs, trains and blocks.

For some reason the blue hippo would eat all the marbles. Sean doesn't use the handle to push the head up and down he instead places the marbles under the hippos mouth.  The blue hippo is his favorite. He than says "orange hippo sad (makes pout face), blue hippo ate them all the time!"

This was the look Sean had after the blue hippo decided to share with the other hippos.

Marbles

Well it has been an interesting few days around here.  I woke up about 3am on Thursday morning with what I thought was really bad mid back pain, however, it turned out to be gallstones.  I ended up having my gallbladder removed on Friday. Baby girl is doing well and I am on the road to recovery but I will be moving slow for a while.   The Doctor said that when he drop my gallbladder into the tray it sounded like a bag of marbles, so we have decided that baby girl is nicknamed marbles, since I blame her for this trouble.  We are having a hard time deciding on a name, Sean thinks cupcake is a good name but I think marbles is better.

We are so lucky to have such good friends and family who were willing to come and help out with whatever we need.  Jon and Michelle took care of Indiana. Lisa was able to pick up Sean from daycare on Thursday and watch him until Ethan left the hospital that night.  On Friday she hauled Sean to Whitehall for us so he could stay with Grandma and Grandpa Jung for the weekend.  He got home today and gave me a very nice hug.  I can't believe how much he can change in just 3 days.  I asked him what he did while staying with Grandma and Grandpa.

Me: so what did you do with Grandma and Grandpa
Sean: watched the trucks
Me: you watched the trucks go by on the highway?
Sean: yeah, I heard them too
Me:  that's fun.  What else?
Sean: played with toys
Me: wow, what else?
Sean: went on a wagon ride
Me: did you help Grandma bake a cake
Sean: YEAH!!!  A nana (banana) cake

So I guess another fun adventure at Grandma and Grandpa's.

He's Back!

Our happy, energetic, playful boy is back.  It's so great to have him feeling well again.  Except he is testing his boundaries and getting into full "terrible 2" mode.

He used to be such a morning person but now when I go in to wake him up and get ready he yells at me and covers his face with his blanket.  On a good note he slept in until 8am this weekend, which allowed us to sleep in as well!

He is missing summer time and the water so we had to provide a small "pond" for him to play with his toys in.  We start swim lessons again this week, hopefully that will fill he need for water play.

New Year News

I realized I didn't write in my last post that we found out we are expecting a girl!!  She was very active during the ultrasound so we didn't get any really good pictures.

Things have been very low key in the Jung house as we are trying to recuperate from colds and Sean decided to get a sinus/minor ear infection just when he was getting over the cold.  He has turned a corner and is starting to sit up and talk again but he had us very worried for a few days.  I was trying to get him to eat something for the first time in 2 days and he decided he wanted pizza...he is truly is father's son.

Week of Fun With Grandma and Dad

Grandma Barb is here visiting and to watch Sean for a few days while Deb is on vacation.  Ethan also had a little more time off then usual so Sean is having a lot of fun with Grandma and Daddy.

Puzzles with Grandma
Then again with Dad.

The 1000 yard stare after waking up from a nap.  He has been fighting taking his naps but as you can tell from the hair and the stare he needs them.

Making cupcakes with Grandma.

Watching a movie with dad.

Being dad's co-pilot.

He also has started using his new favorite word "damit".  He says it when he is frustrated or something isn't working as he likes and it's so cute when he says it, however, we are trying to curb this habit!
