Christmas Fun

We celebrated two Christmas' this year.  We headed to Kyle's and celebrated Christmas on Saturday.  This was Kyle's first time hosting Christmas and he really went all out. He said it was going to be a day of eating and he didn't lie.  Good food, good company, and puppies.
Christmas Eve we headed to Whitehall to spend Christmas with Papa Ron, Grandma Linda and the Goodwin's.  More good food, good company...but no puppies.

After Christmas dinner snuggles with my boy.

Ultimate tower of duplos!!!

Sean playing at his new table that Papa Ron built.  Alot of love and care went into this table and Sean loves it!

Maybe next year we'll just wrap up empty boxes...they seemed just as fascinating as the actual presents.

Sean snuggling with the puppies at Uncle Kyle's house.  This one was his favorite and I thought for a minute we may be coming home with a puppy.

Hanging with Grandma Barb and puppies.

Just Because

Sean giving Indiana hugs and kisses.

Building "fences" around his lego animals.

He likes to make sure they can't get out.

Craft project gone wrong.  I was trying to make some goop for Sean and I to play with.  I turned my back to get water at the sick and I heard "uh oh mom....I clean it" I turn around and this is what a saw.  Poof cornstarch everywhere.

Fun and Games

Sean enjoys playing with the playdoh Grandma Barb got him for his birthday.  I took the yellow playdoh and made a bowl I asked Sean what we should put in the bowl and we ended up making a mama bird, papa bird and little baby birds.  His imagination and knowlegde amazes me.  At one point I took the yellow playdoh and lumped it into a ball.  He kept saying something to me and pointing to his behind and I couldn't tell what he was trying to say.  Finally I figured out that he was telling me he wanted a place for the bird to sit.  He needed the birds nest back.

This same night he was playing with the letter magnets on the fridge and making a piece of "art".  He ran out of letters and luckily I had a few hiding in his closet.

Sean is getting pretty good at tug-o-war with Indiana.  He actually won this match (only because Indy can now understand when he says DROP!)

Sean also helped Ethan and I play Yahtzee this week.  He has pretty good dice rolling skills, however, he doesn't appreciate it when you don't include all dice when he rolls.

We attempted to make some salt dough ornaments.  Sean was a great assistant and thoroughly enjoyed playing in the flour and water.  What a mess but so much fun!

Prepping for Christmas

We have been prepping for Christmas at the Jung house!  The tree is decorated, lights are hung and decorations have made the house festive. Sean helped me put up our nativity scene, and he was a great help (need to glue and ear and leg back on but I appreciated the help).  We took in the Bozeman Christmas Stroll with Jon and Michelle and enjoyed lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Jung.

At lunch Sean discovered powdered Parmesan cheese.  He would sprinkle it on his hand then lick his hand.  He was obsessed!

Picking out our Christmas tree....city style.  I would prefer to go into the woods and pick my own but oh well.

Taking in the Christmas stroll, as always a classic look from Ethan.

The fully decorated tree.

And for video fun.  Sean has really started singing.  He has a book that has a bunch of nursery ryhmes and he is beginning to recognize a few of the pages when he looks through.  I caught him in his room the the other day singing to his hearts content.  Can you name that tune?

Thankful for Family

Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday.  First because it is about eating a ton of good food but most of all because it is a time to spend with family.  When the holiday's come around I think about the many holiday's spent at Grandma and Grandpa Deitchler's when I grew up.  I loved that we had a huge family and were surrounded by Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Grandparents.  I remember the adults would stay up until all hours of the night playing pinocle (I couldn't really understand the game at that point, but now love it).  I don't think I valued this time I had with family as much as I should, however, I am very thankful for the memories.  I am thankful that we get to spend this Thanksgiving with family, I only wish everyone could be there and that Ethan's family could join us as well.

On the note of being thankful for family.  Ethan, Sean and I want to announce that we are expanding ours!  Jung baby #2 is expected to arrive May 2013!  We think Sean is going to love being a big brother!

A few pictures from Sean's 2 year photo shoot.

Thankful for Books

Sean loves books!  When he is upstairs playing in his room and it gets quiet Ethan and I often wonder what mischief he has gotten into, however, most of the time we find him sitting on his bed reading.  He also likes to read books before bedtime.  I love that it provides family time and Sean's enthusiasm and expressions for what he reads and sees provides a good laugh before bed.

Thank you for Lazy Weekends

This week we got our first big snow storm of the year.  About 10inches in 10 hours.   Therefore, we decided to spend the weekend being lazy.  Sunday Ethan and Sean decided to make waffles.

Measuring out the mix.

Putting the mix in the bowl.
Waiting patiently for the griddle to cook.
 Done yet?!?!?
 Perfectly cooked.
Yummy waiting for the syrup.

And here is what happens after a two year old eats syrup.

And at 7pm he is still going.

Thank You for Grandma's and Grandpa's

Sean spent the entire weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Jung's house.  As always they had a lot of fun!
Eating breakfast in the 3 seasons room. Enjoying the nice weather.

Playing with toys.

Going for walks, playing on the swings and in the sandbox.

What did Ethan and I do you ask?  Well we had an adult only weekend.  Saturday we relaxed, slept in, watched a movies without pausing, had dinner and lunch with good friends Jon, Michelle, Mason and Nicole. Then, Sunday we drove to Butte and had lunch with good friends Lisa and Mike. Before going back to Whitehall and getting family pictures taken.  Which we discovered later afternoon is not a good time to try and get Sean's happy side.  We missed our little boy but a relaxing, kid free weekend was just what we needed.

Halloween

Sean's first pumpkin carving experience.  He wasn't very interested in scooping out the slimy insides but once we got him a spoon and had most of it done he got into it.

This is the reaction we get when we try to put Sean in the dinosaur costume Grandma Barb got him, trick or treating may not be on our agenda.

2 Year Check Up

Sean's stats for his 2 year check up:
Weight: 27 lbs (31%)
Height: 34.5 in (54%)

And a haircut to help him look a year older.
