Happy Halloween!

Ethan and I had a hard time picking out a costume for Sean this year.  Actually we found some really cool ones but we couldn't bring ourselves to spend $30-$40 on a costume, so we ended up with whatever was left on the shelf.  Meet the cuddly lion (costume was a tad small).  Sean was really interested all the kids coming to the door, he wanted to join in on the fun and follow them down the street.

On to the Next Chapter

Dear Sean,

People told us that becoming parents would change our lives forever.   Well, we kind of figured that, however, what they didn’t tell us was how becoming parents makes everything else in our world seem less important.  We never knew that the simplest smile, smallest step, strangest noise and yes, even funkiest smelling diaper could bring such happiness to our life.  Thank you for reminding us that it is the joy of family, friends and the simple pleasures that make life worth living.  You truly are a gift from God and we can’t wait to experience the next chapter of your life.   Happy first birthday baby boy!

Love Mom & Dad

Birthday Bash!

Thank you Aunt Afton for the wonderful birthday outfit.

Thank you friends and family for all the wonderful toys and warm clothes.

I preferred the presents that didn't require unwrapping.  I could just get down to business.

They make a good step stool as well.

Andrew Braun was a big help unwrapping presents and he showed me how to use all my new toys.

Why is everyone starring at me and what's up with the singing?

Okay if you insist I try this stuff.

Hey that's not bad, I'll try some more.

Yummy!

All gone!

Indiana had to spend the day outside, which he didn't particularly enjoy, but there were too many people for him to be running around the house.  At the end of the day I wanted to make sure that he knew he was still the best puppy in the world.

Quick update

This past week I headed to Orlando for a conference and Grandma Barb came over to watch Sean while Ethan was at work.  Grandma sure enjoyed playing with Sean all day.  She couldn't believe how much he has grown since August and how well he is walking around.  Sean got his first bee sting which Grandma felt really bad about but that isn't something that can be helped.  His hand swelled up a little bit but after a call to the pediatrician and some Benadryl all was better.  I was very happy to see Sean when I arrived back in Bozeman.  It's amazing how fast they can grow and change in 6 days.  Orlando was fun we stayed at a hotel that was close to Downtown Disney, but didn't get a chance to take in any of the theme parks.   As conferences usually are it was full of good food, programs and wonderful networking opportunities.   I'll try to post some pictures or videos later this week.

Park and Pumpkins

It has been another fun week at the Jung house.  Sean is practically running where ever he goes.  Him and Indy are getting along better and Sean has even learned how to play fetch with him.  Sean went bowling for a second time as I had an out of class bowling and pizza party with my seminar students.  As always he was the hit of the party.  On Saturday we traveled to Yellowstone National Park with Gma and Gpa Jung.  We went to Mammoth and then headed further down into the park to Old Faithful.  We didn't make it in time to see the old geyser erupt and didn't want to have to stick around for another hour to wait for it to erupt again but Sean enjoyed seeing the steaming geysers and playing in the visitor center.  On Sunday we went with our good friends Jon and Michelle to local Rocky Creek Farm where we got to pet goats and sheep, look at some chickens, pick out a pumpkin, go on a hayride and make our way through the corn maze.  Sean didn't know what to think about everything but he sure enjoyed picking out a pumpkin.

Productive and fun

This weekend was amazing.  We did a lot of stuff around the house and even fit in some fun.  On Friday night and Saturday Ethan and I stained the pergola and planter bench that we have on our back patio.  It was in desperate need of a new coat of stain since we haven't stained them since we built them 4 years ago!  Indy and Sean kept each other entertained while we worked. On Saturday afternoon we went bowling and out to pizza with some friends in honor of Ethan' birthday.  Sean enjoyed his first bowling trip and can't wait until he can play on his own.  Sunday we worked on projects around the house and Ethan built me an amazing spice rack!  I was tired of having to stand on my tip toes or get a chair to find the spices I needed.

Sean is walking all over now.  He seldom crawls anymore and if he starts out crawling he soon changes to walking (I think he realizes it will get him there quicker).  Also it may be time for his first haircut, but I just can't bring myself to take him in.   Ethan and I can't believe he turns one this month!  It's amazing how fast he has grown.
